Dreamscapes Behind Closed Eyes
When lids descend and light retreats, the quiet hour unfolds its gates. No wall can hold the restless mind, it paints a world of its own kind. A river runs in silver thread, through meadows where the lost have fled, and skies are stitched with violet flame, where every shadow learns a name. In sleep the ordinary bends, the stars come down to be our friends, and doors appear in empty air, leading to rooms no hand has built with care. So close your eyes and let them roam, imagination builds a home, and when the dawn returns to view, the dreamer carries worlds anew.
The Crayon Door
With waxy red and sky-blue green, A child drew houses, sun, and tree. The paper hummed, the lines grew deep, And through the page a river leapt. The crayon sun began to glow, A gold that warmed the margins slow. The scribbled birds took wing and flew, Their feathers bright with crayon hue. The stick-figure child stepped from the page, Her shoes still dusted with the stage Of every hue she'd ever pressed, Now walking through a world expressed. So keep your crayons, bold and bright, For imagination's paper light Can turn a scribble, rough and small, Into a whole new world for all.
Dancing Shadows
When the lamplight dims and the walls grow deep, the shadows stir from their sleep, and gather in a silent, flickering ring to dance to the tunes that the dreamers sing. They stretch into spires of silver glass, where rivers run upward and mountains pass, and cities bloom from a single thought, every tower of a wish that was never bought. No map has charted the lands they make, no compass points to the paths they take, yet each sway and spin is a world unfurled from the quiet courage of an imagined world. So leave the lamp a little low, and let the shadows come and go, for every dance on the darkened wall is a kingdom waiting to answer your call.
