Farewell to the Freeway Jam
Hasta la vista, traffic that never moves, You've kept me idling through a dozen grooves. My coffee's cold, my radio's on repeat, And still the brake lights glow with no retreat. I've watched the same white van for forty miles, We've shared more quality time than old friends' smiles. The speedometer sleeps, the clock just grins, While I plot ways to sprout my car some wings. So wave goodbye to every honk and sigh, To crawling lanes that taunt me as they lie. I'm off to find a road that flows with ease, And leave you parked, forever stuck, with pleas.
Goodbye, Snooze Button
You beckoned me each morning with a tap, A gentle lie: 'Just five more minutes, friend.' I'd burrow deep, and dream of lunch and nap, Then wake to find the day had reached its end, my friend. Nine minutes here, another nine beyond, I bargained with the sun and lost each time. You were my cozy, bleary-eyed blond, The reason I was always late to climb. So here's my farewell, button, round and small, I'll rise at dawn with coffee in my hand. No more excuses, none at all, I'll face the world, though I won't understand. But just before I go, one final press, For old times' sake, a sentimental sigh. Ah, there's the buzz. I'm up. Yes, yes, I'll confess, I'll miss you, snooze, but not the way I try.
Goodbye, Old Passwords
Adieu, you cryptic strings of '@!#', I typed you wrong for years, a silly crew. P@ssword1, then P@ssword2, I'd sigh, And reset you again, then wonder why. You hid in sticky notes beneath my keys, You vanished from my brain like autumn leaves. So, farewell, forgotten codes and lies, We're finally through; now I can say goodbye!
