Echoes of January
Winds howl through empty parks,
Ghosts of laughter intertwine,
Barren branches, winter’s marks,
Silent whispers, lost in time.
Footfalls linger, shadows creep,
Where joy once danced, now memories sleep.
Frosty breath in a world so gray,
In January's clutch, the laughter’s sway.
Each gust carries tales of cheer,
Yet solitude clings, ever near.
The heart aches with sweet refrains,
In a month where only stillness reigns.
Whispers of January
In January's clutch, shadows stretch long,
Whispers of winter in the silence belong.
Lonely the branches, bare in the chill,
Awaiting the warmth, a promise to fill.
Each day drifts slowly, time's heavy hand,
While frostbitten dreams lie dormant in sand.
Yet deep in the heart, seeds slumber and wait,
For spring's gentle kiss to awaken their fate.
So I cradle my hopes in the cold's tight embrace,
Finding solace in stillness, a quiet, safe space.
For the shadows will fade, and with them my sighs,
As the earth stirs to life, beneath wide-open skies.
