Songs of Dusk
In the shadows where dreams lie low, Muffled echoes of heartbeats flow. Behind iron bars, whispers confide, Sorrowful tales where hope has died. The rattle of chains, a sorrowful beat, Each note is a tear, each word bittersweet. Beneath the gray sky and flickering light, Poems of anguish are penned every night. With ink made of longing and paper of pain, Every stanza weaves losses, like tears in the rain. Folsom’s dim cells hold a symphony bright, Far from the world, yet burning with light.
Whispers in Chains
In the stillness of the night, they speak, Echoes of sorrow, voices so bleak, Rattling chains beneath the pale moon's glow, Stories of freedom that flicker, then go. Behind these walls, dreams shatter like glass, Time drips slowly, moments amass, The bars a reminder of choices we make, In shadows of silence, our hearts often ache. Each clank of iron sings a haunting refrain, Of laughter and love lost, of struggle and pain, But in whispers and dreams, still hope might ignite, As the chains rattle softly in moon's gentle light.
