The Long Way Home
The map of miles may stretch and sprawl,
The ocean roar its restless call,
Yet threads of fate, though worn and thin,
Are tied to hearts that both begin.
No border holds a bond that's true,
No storm can wash away what grew;
The roads may bend, the years may stray,
But meant is meant, and finds its way.
So let the seasons turn and wane,
Let silence sit in aching lane;
What's written in the stars will hold,
And draw you back, as love foretold.
The Empty Platform
The last train left its breath behind,
A lonely sigh on iron rails.
I stand where footsteps used to pass,
Where hope still hums like distant bells.
The benches hold no shadow now,
The clock keeps time but not for me.
Yet something in my chest stays steady,
A promise tied to what will be.
The miles between us stretch like wire,
But love is stronger than their weight.
What's meant to be will find its way,
And I will wait, and I will wait.
The Shrinking Miles
The road between us stretches long,
A ribbon thin, a silent song,
Yet every hour I count the miles,
And watch them fold like folded aisles.
Your name drifts through the evening air,
A quiet thread of hope and prayer,
And though the sea may roll and rise,
My heart still finds the way to your eyes.
What fate has tied, no map can sever,
What love has written, time won't tear,
So let the years and oceans be,
For every longing brings you near to me.
