Dusk's Liquid Gold
Liquid gold spills from the dusky rim, A slow, warm river pouring through the dim. It drips across the hills in shining threads, And every ripple wakes where daylight treads. The sky grows deep with violet and rose, While amber currents drift where the dark goes. Each wave of light bends softly into night, A golden hush that trembles, pure and bright.
Gilded Drift
Beneath the pond's glass, dusk spills thin, A ribbon of liquid gold begins. It stirs and shimmers, soft and slow, As ripples curl where light must go. A single leaf, adrift and free, Drifts over sunlit water's sea, Its shadow pressed on molten glow, While golden threads ebb to and fro. The current hums its hushed refrain, And gilded waves rise up again, Each dance a whisper, bright and brief, Beneath the wandering, drifting leaf.
Liquid Gold
Sunlight spills across the lake, and melts into a golden wake, where ripples stretch in ribbons bright, as though the day had poured its light. Each shimmer shivers, soft and slow, the water wears the sun's warm glow, and every wave that softly sways unfolds a gleam of golden rays. The sky leans low to catch the sheen, the reeds stand still, the air serene, and all the world, in liquid gold, forgets the dusk it cannot hold.
