Grumpy Greens
In a kitchen dark, the pot does brew,
A cabbage stew for a Grinch in blue.
With a frown so deep and a scowl so wide,
Each bubbling whiff, his grumpiness can't hide.
Eager flavors swirl in the steamed-up air,
But he stirs with disdain, showing little care.
"What joy's to be found in leaves so green?"
He scoffs at the feast, like a grumpy machine.
Yet beneath that grimace, a secret does dwell,
In the warmth of the stew, there's a comforting spell.
For even the Grinch, with his heart odd and skewed,
Can't resist a warm bowl of cabbage stew food!
Heart of Gold
In the chill of a frosty morn,
A Grinch with a heart forlorn,
Snapped by whispers of joy and cheer,
His icy armor dissolved in a tear.
Three sizes larger, his heart did swell,
As laughter rang like a joyful bell,
With the love of the townsfolk, fresh and bright,
His spirit ignited, a glorious sight.
No longer bound by a cloak of disdain,
He danced in the snow, embraced joy's refrain,
For Christmas, he learned, was never about
The gifts we exchange, but love, without doubt.
So raise up your voice, let kindness take flight,
For hearts that are open can shine through the night,
Like the Grinch who transformed, a tale we hold dear,
A heart filled with love is the true Christmas cheer.
