Whispers of Summer
In golden rays of childhood's glow,
Where laughter danced in breezy flow,
The scent of cherries filled the air,
Sweet memories, unbound, laid bare.
Ice cream dripped on fingertips,
Sun-kissed days and salty lips,
We chased the fireflies, night aglow,
Time slipped softly, sweet and slow.
Each taste a tale, a cherished bite,
Of summer's warmth and pure delight,
Like honeyed whispers on my tongue,
Forever young, forever sung.
Bittersweet Reminiscence
In shadows cast by candlelight,
Where whispers danced in velvet nights,
A bittersweet chocolate lays near,
Each bite recalls what once was dear.
Melting dreams on tongues once shared,
Soft laughter fills the empty air.
A taste of love that's lost in time,
Each morsel sings a lost sublime.
Wrapped in wrappers, secrets confined,
Every square a piece of the mind.
With every savor, ghosts rewind,
To moments sweet, now unaligned.
Yet in the depth of cocoa’s grace,
A flicker of your warm embrace.
Though love has waned, the flame remains,
In chocolate’s depths, our song sustains.
