Treads of the Dutton
Dusty boots tread on worn paths, Where whispers of the prairie weave, Each step a story of the past, In shadows of the mountains' eaves. The sun dips low, the sky aflame, With hues that dance on sage and stone, Here, every cloven hoof's a name, In the heart of earth, we roam alone. The wind hums tunes of labor's pride, As cattle gather, dusk draws near, These grounds of grit and grit where we bide, Each footfall rooted, strong and clear.
Dawn on Dutton Hills
Golden rays crest the steep, soft rise, A whisper of dawn in tangerine skies. Hills roll like waves in a tranquil sea, Awakening dreams where the wild grasses sway. Cows low and stir in the warm, tender light, As shadows retreat from the breath of the night. Each blade of grass kissed with dew’s gentle grace, A promise of fortune, of time, and of space. The sun dances boldly on the horizon, Painting tales of the ranch in bright gold and crimson. With each passing moment, the earth starts to sing, Dutton's soft beauty embraces the spring.
