With Every Heartbeat
With every heartbeat, scars awake,
Vulnerability's tender ache.
In shadows where the trust once bloomed,
A whispered hope, yet still entombed.
Each pulse a rhythm, raw and true,
Echoes of love, now bittersweet blue.
A tapestry of cherished dreams,
Frays at the edges, unravels seams.
But from the ashes, embers glow,
A flicker of faith, a chance to grow.
For hearts that break can learn to mend,
And trust, though tested, finds a friend.
Finding the Keys
In shadows deep, where sorrow hangs,
I built my walls, a fortress strong,
With every heartbeat, every pang,
I swore that love could do me wrong.
Like ancient stones, my heart did bind,
A citadel of hurt and fears,
Each glance, a dagger, cruel and blind,
I locked away my hopes and tears.
But in the silence, whispers grew,
A gentle hand, a soft refrain,
With patience, kindness breaking through,
The lock began to yield to pain.
And there, beneath the heavy stone,
A key emerged, an honest gaze,
In trust rebuilt, I found my own,
A light to navigate the maze.
So now, I stand, my walls undone,
With open heart, I dare to see,
That love, like dawn, must just outrun,
The shadows where we seek to be.
