The Balancing Act
In the glass tower's shadow, we strive and we bend,
Each quarter a canvas, where numbers ascend.
With whispers of metrics and goals that confine,
The weight of expectations hangs heavy, malign.
Smiles cloaked in tension, as letters unfold,
The dance of reviews told in metrics of gold.
But beneath polished surfaces, hearts beat with fear,
Performance a ledger, in silence we steer.
Yet in this grand theater, where ambitions entwine,
We are more than the targets that charts can define.
Amidst all the figures, let truth rise anew,
That worth isn’t measured in what only few do.
The Price of Stability
In towers high, where shadows blend,
Dreams are bartered, futures penned,
With every deal, a passion fades,
A bittersweet trade, in quiet glades.
Once we soared, on wings of hope,
Chasing visions, learning to cope,
Now we wear the suits so tight,
As laughter dims in fluorescent light.
What is gained when risks are ground,
If heart's gentle whisper is never found?
In the flurry of commerce, we must agree,
We sacrificed dreams for stability.
Elevator Musings
In the steel and glass, we rise and fall,
A pause for breath; no sound at all.
Silent faces, thoughts entwined,
In this cramped box, what truths we find.
A fleeting moment, a fleeting grace,
We share the air, yet none embrace.
Time suspended, lives collide,
In the corporate hush, our dreams abide.
