Cloudy Delays
In the bus stop's woeful hold, The minutes creep, so slow, so cold. While clouds above, with grins so wide, Float on by in a lazy glide. A fluffy sheep, the first I see, Bounces forth, just like me, While time still dawdles, I can't help but muse, On all the places, I’d rather choose! Maybe a café, or a sunny park, Instead of here with a dog and a lark. As I wait for the ride that seems to miss, I chuckle aloud—my clouds, such bliss!
Doodles in the Conference Room
In a room where time stands still, Where slides drudge on against my will, The clock's hands crawl, the minutes yawn, As boredom's grip keeps holding on. I wield my pen, a knight in hand, Transforming paper, crafting land, With doodles bright, and scribbles bold, A world emerges, tales unfold. The boss drones on—his voice a hum, While dragons dance and goblins strum, A cat in a hat starts to prance, In this silent, wild doodle dance. Oh, meetings may stretch like taffy thin, But in my mind, the fun begins, For each sketch tells a tale unheard, Doodles speak louder than each word.
Clockwatcher's Lament
Tick-tock, the clock sings, With every chime, my patience swings. A surprise is brewing, I can feel it near, Yet minutes drag like molasses, oh dear! I check it once, I check it twice, Each glance a dance, a roll of dice. Will it be cake? A party? Or glee? Why does this waiting feel like a century? My watch must be broken, it can’t be right, It tickles my thoughts deep into the night. Each second a tease, every tock like a jest, Oh, what a funny game—this waiting quest! So here I stand, in this endless wait, With dreams of surprises that soon will elate. Yet here in the moment, I'll laugh and I'll play, For often the waiting brings joy in its way.
