Echoes of the Untamed
In the heart of steel and stone,
Where shadows weave in whispered tones,
A wolf prowls through the citadel's hall,
Its spirit echoes through the urban sprawl.
Concrete canyons, tall as dreams,
Veil the wild in muted screams,
Yet wisdom slips through cracks so small,
Guiding the lost, answering the call.
A howl that pierces the city’s din,
Reminds the heart where it has been,
For in the labyrinth, a path untraced,
The wild still lives, unbowed, embraced.
So pause in the pulse of a restless night,
And listen close to the raw, fierce light;
For even in places where shadows abide,
The wolf’s ancient wisdom will not hide.
The Guards' Lullaby
In stone-clad walls where shadows creep,
The citadel guards drift into sleep.
Beneath the moon's soft, silver glow,
A whispered threat begins to grow.
Silent streets where echoes dwell,
Nightly tales, the old ones tell.
While danger prowls in ghostly guise,
The guards dream on, lost in the skies.
Through crumbled paths, a wolf does tread,
With hunger fierce, and eyes blood red.
Yet the brave still dream, their vigil weak,
As a silent howl through darkness speaks.
Oh, wake, ye sentinels strong and bold,
For in the night, true danger unfolds.
But still they lie, in slumber's hold,
As midnight warns of dread untold.
