The Lonely Wanderer
In the corner of the drawer so deep, A lonely sock begins to weep. With stripes of blue and a hint of red, It dreams of the pair that once it led. Through the wash it took a spin, Now alone, the quest begins. Under the bed, behind the chair, It seeks the twin that’s gone somewhere. Through piles of lint and dust it roams, Wanders far from its fabric home. In a world of paired footsteps and dance, This lonesome soul craves a second chance. With each fleeting day, it holds on tight, To memories of warmth, a gentle sight. Oh, where can you be, my matching mate? In the land of lost socks, I patiently wait.
Threads of Fate
In the drawer's embrace, we hide and bide, Two once a pair, now drifted aside. One found a path in the grass so green, While the other roams where the dust motes glean. I danced with the raindrops, you splashed in puddles, Each step we dreamed, in mismatched huddles. You warmed a child’s feet through the winter year, I tangled with thorns, but shed not a tear. With colors once bright, now faded to time, We tell tales of journeys, of moments sublime. Though we may seem odd in our separate ways, Together we share these adventurous days.
