Phantoms of Affection
In dreams we danced, our shadows twirled,
Sweet murmurs wrapped in twilight's hold,
Yet dawn's embrace, so harsh, unfurled,
Imagined love in whispers told.
The kisses lingered, soft and warm,
Like summer's breath, a fleeting sigh,
But morning's sun, with blinding charm,
Awoke the truth, and dreams would die.
In empty spaces, echoes play,
The warmth of touch, now cold as stone,
A love once felt, just cast away,
In daylight's glare, I'm all alone.
The Echo of What Could Be
In whispered dreams, our hearts entwined,
A tender bond, yet undefined.
Your laughter danced on twilight's edge,
A fleeting joy, a silent pledge.
We shared the night, though worlds apart,
A flame ignites without a spark.
The longing blooms in shadows cast,
A love well-formed, yet never grasped.
In every glance that could have been,
In bitter-sweetness, love unseen.
I mourn the ties I never had,
Yet ache for you, my heart feels sad.
Fleeting Echoes
In midnight's hush, your name I chase,
A shadowed dream, an empty space.
With fingers clasped, I reach for you,
But slip away, like morning dew.
Each glowing thought, a whispered spark,
Fades in the dawn, leaves just the dark.
Yet in the quiet, your laughter sings,
A tender ache, a ghost that clings.
I mourn a love that's never been,
A wistful wish on whispered wind.
And as I dream of what we lack,
I lose you more, yet yearn you back.
