Warm Smiles on Ice
In the chill of dawn, the rink lies still, A glimmering stage on frostbitten hill. With every warm smile, the cold fades away, As skaters glide forth, they dance in the fray. The attendant stands ready, with laughter and cheer, A beacon of warmth in the brisk of the year. With hands at their sides, or a whistle's soft call, They shape every moment, embracing it all. They watch as the children with glee learn to spin, While couples hold hands, and the music begins. These smiles like sunshine on shimmering streams, Transform icy barriers into warm dreams.
Chasing Winter Dreams
In frosted air where laughter sings, Children glide on icebound wings. Chasing shadows, bright and bold, Their winter dreams in gleeful hold. The rink, a stage for joy and play, Each twirl a wish, each leap a sway. Skates like whispers on the sheen, In a world where magic’s seen. Chilly cheeks and breath like smoke, Every tumble, every stroke, Echoes of pure delight resound, In this frozen fairy ground. As an attendant, I guard their fun, Their laughter dances, my heart is won. For in their chase through winter's gleam, I find my own forgotten dream.
