The Canine Culprit
In the kitchen, a mystery unfolds, An empty jar where sweet chocolate told. Crumbs trail like secrets, a guilty path, But I point to the pup, dodging the wrath. With eyes wide and innocent, he sits so still, “My dear human, I would never fulfill, Such a heist of delights! You must understand, It was just a rough paw, not a sneaky plan.” I examine the evidence, it's hard to ignore, The telltale chocolate green smudge on the floor. Yet he wagged his tail, all bright and so spry, “It wasn’t me, truly! Just watch as I fly!” So, I sigh with a chuckle, no blame I can place, It's tough to resist that sweet puppy face. I’ll rest my case, but remember this day, Next time the jar’s empty, he'll just wag away!
The Cat's Alibi
A splash of white on kitchen floor, A puddle formed, oh what a chore, I saw my cat, tail swishing sleek, Eyes wide, he acted oh-so meek. "Wasn't me!" he seemed to say, With whiskers twitching, fur in dismay, His pounce was quick, his charm was strong, But milk on the tiles has known him long. With guilty eyes, I start to scold, Yet in his gaze, a tale unfolds, He curled in guilt, a furry champ, As if to claim, the milk's my stamp! So here we are, just him and me, My secret's safe, he’s crafty, see? For every spill, and every mess, It’s always him, but I confess.
