The Wayward Umbrella
Upon a drizzly, dreary day, I grabbed my trusty dome of gray. Yet as I stepped into the door, It flipped! Oh dear, what’s in store? With one swift gust, it danced and twirled, Like a mischievous flag unfurled. It caught the wind, oh how it flew, And left me drenched, a soggy stew. The rain poured down upon my shoes, As I stood there, awash in blues. My umbrella turned traitor, bold, While I, the jester, froze and cold. So if you stroll in summer's breath, With whimsy's charm or chance of death, Hold tight your grip, don’t let it slide, Or find yourself on the wrong side!
Slippery Serenade
On polished tiles where echoes play, A dance unfolds in a clumsy ballet. One swift misstep, and off I go, Arms flailing wildly, a comic show! With a whoosh and a thud, I become the jest, As gravity whispers, "Consider the rest!" Like a cartoon character, I twirl and spin, Clinging to dignity, oh, let the fun begin! Banana peels laugh from the corner's gloom, While I pirouette, on the edge of doom. Each slip a sonnet, each fall a delight, In the grand performance of life’s silly fight. So here’s to the floors where accidents breed, May we slip and may we slide, but always proceed. For laughter’s the remedy, brightening our day, In the slippery moments, we find our play!
The Mailbox Stands Tall
In a quiet neighborhood, a chase ensued, A dog on a mission, his focus renewed. He spotted the mailman, in uniform bright, And took off like lightning, his heart full of fright. With barks like a siren, he dashed down the lane, While the mailman sprinted, not one glance of disdain. But lo! What a twist, as the race reached a peak, The mailbox stood firm, didn't budge, not a squeak. The dog stumbled forward, hit brakes in a flash, The mailman, now laughing, was gone in a dash. With a woof of defeat, the pup hung his head, For the mailbox was champion—the day’s victor said. Now each time the mail comes, there’s less cause for fright, The dog sits and watches, all bark without bite. For accidents happen, it’s all in good fun, But the mailbox emerged as the true number one!
