The Weight of Hunger
In hollow realms where shadows play,
The weight of hunger wakes the day.
Each rumbling silence, sharp and raw,
A whispered plea, an empty maw.
Beneath the sun's harsh, burning stare,
The earth lies canopied in despair.
Though barren ground and trees stand thin,
In search of hope, we delve within.
Each day a battle, raw and bright,
Where dreams of feasting flicker, light.
Yet in this struggle, hearts align,
Resilience blossoms, roots entwine.
For though the hunger presses down,
With every loss, a strength is found.
In unity, we stand and rise,
Against the weight—our spirits fly.
Echoes of Absence
Hands stretch wide, in shadows cast,
Where once was plenty, now a vast
Desolation, echoes whisper low,
Of dreams that danced, of tides that flow.
Fingers grasp at empty air,
Clutching memories, the taste of despair.
What once was ripe, now fades away,
A feast of longing in bright dismay.
The heart's a vessel; the hunger grows,
For what is lost, the spirit knows.
In silent screams, the void we share,
Hands reach for what’s no longer there.
Echoes of Hunger
Empty plates in shadows cast,
Whispers linger from the past.
Silent kitchen, dreams deferred,
Echoes of a silent word.
Cups that once held warmth and cheer,
Now are hollow, void, austere.
Glistening silver, once a feast,
Now a relic, joy released.
Faint reminders, scents erased,
Nights of longing, time misplaced.
In the quiet, hear the pain,
Hunger’s song, a soft refrain.
