Pothole Lament
In the asphalt blanket, I lie concealed, A puzzle piece lost, my fate revealed. Bump and thud, the car's muffled cries, A dance with danger as tires fly. Cars glide by, oblivious and fleet, While I cradle stories beneath their feet. Each jolt a thunder, each shudder a sigh, In chaos, I dream of the clouds passing by. Cracked edges whisper of rains that once fell, 'Neath sun and the stars, there’s a tale to tell. A secret in chaos, in pavement's embrace, A pothole’s soft heart, in the car’s wild race.
Bumps in the Road
In summer's glow, the asphalt gleams, But under puddles, danger teems. I bounce and jolt, a vagrant stir, As hidden chasms subtly blur. The rain cascades, a thin disguise, Reflecting clouds in sorrowed sighs. Oh, wary tires tread with care, For lurking traps lay everywhere. A sudden dip, a splash, a thud, I feel each jolt, each weary stud. Yet through the storms, my journey's fate, I roll and roam, embracing late. A pothole’s tale, a car's lament, In summer rains, my time is spent. With every bump, a story told, Of hidden dangers, brave and bold.
Echoes of Asphalt
In the night, shadows creep, A smooth road's promise, a lullaby's sweep. But lurking below, a monstrous maw, A pothole's grin, defies the law. With wheels that shudder, I brace for the fall, Deep abyss of despair, I hear the call. A car’s uneasy sigh echoes my dread, Beneath the tires, danger ahead. Rattle and roll, I navigate this strife, Adventures of metal in the dance of life. Yet, with grit and grace, I push on through, For every dark pit gives rise to the new.
