Languid Respite
In summer's grip, the shadows wane,
Languid breaths where sunlight reigns.
The asphalt shimmers, whispers low,
As trees in silence seem to grow.
Oppressed beneath the hazy hue,
Each heart seeks solace, something new.
The air hangs thick with dreams unsaid,
In sweltering hours, old hopes are fed.
With heavy limbs, we find our place,
In the cool recess of nature's grace.
Where softest breezes dare to sweep,
And weary shadows long to sleep.
Shimmering Mirage
Beneath the sun's relentless glare,
The asphalt ripples, waves declare,
A dance of light, a fleeting dream,
Where nothing's quite as it may seem.
The air, a weight upon the skin,
Reality's thin veil wears thin,
Each step a stir of phantom heat,
A whispering ghost beneath our feet.
Mirages bloom in golden hue,
Familiar sights, yet far from true,
In this oppressive, shimmering haze,
We search for solace in the blaze.
But in this throbbing, barren land,
We craft our dreams with trembling hand,
And though the heat may twist and bend,
Our spirits rise, we won't descend.
Shimmering Despair
Underneath the sun's embrace,
The air hangs thick, a heavy weight,
Heat waves dance, a silent race,
While dreams dissolve in molten fate.
Mirages twist in glaring light,
Each shimmer dims, each breath a fight,
In whispered winds, hope flutters small,
An ember lost in summer's thrall.

Thirsting Earth
In barren lands where silence brews,
The sun beats down with ruthless hues,
Cracks like arteries weave the ground,
A parched heart aching, yearning, bound.
Dusty whispers fill the air,
Desires tangled, steeped in despair,
Each fissure holds a tale unsaid,
Of dreams once born now thirsting dead.
O fragrant rain, where art thou now?
Come bless this soil, fulfill this vow,
With gentle grace your droplets fall,
Revive the earth, awaken all.
