Gilded Tides
On gilded pedestals, they rise,
Egos shimmering beneath the skies,
Like tides of gold that ebb and flow,
In hearts of men, their glories glow.
Yet winds of change, they turn the way,
And gold can tarnish, fade to gray.
The heights we seek, so briefly stand,
Like fleeting grains of shifting sand.
In life's vast ocean, may we see,
The beauty found in humility.
For when the tide draws back in time,
It's love, not gold, that stands sublime.
Chasing Shadows
Upon this gilded pedestal we stand,
Chasing shadows, dreams, with trembling hand.
Each gleam reflects what might have been,
In whispers soft, where hope has been.
Glimmers dance in the twilight's embrace,
Eclipsing the heart's uncharted space.
What lies beneath this golden light?
The fragile dreams that fade from sight.
Yet still we reach, though shadows play,
In every heartbeat, come what may.
For on this pedestal, though we roam,
We chase the specters of our true home.
Gilded Reflections
Whispers of dreams flicker, bright in the night,
On a gilded pedestal, they dance in delight.
Golden threads weave tales in the soft, glowing air,
Echoes of aspirations, both fragile and rare.
In the shimmer of hopes that refuse to grow dim,
Life’s canvas unfurls with each delicate whim.
Though shadows may linger, they cannot outshine,
The light of our dreams, forever divine.
