Homeward Bound
As daylight fades, the skyline glows,
The evening whispers, the soft wind blows.
Steel and glass, they shed their glare,
While tired feet begin to fare.
The hum of wheels on tracks align,
A symphony of life, divine,
With every stop, the city's heart,
Beats slower now, as I depart.
Office walls behind me fade,
In twilight's arms, my thoughts cascade.
Each passing street, a memory spun,
Of laughter shared, of battles won.
The sun dips low, the stars awake,
In dusky hues, my spirit's stake.
Commute of peace from toil to home,
In evening's embrace, I freely roam.
Caffeine's Farewell
The clock unwinds its tethered thread,
As sunlight spills where shadows fled,
My coffee cup, once brimming, bright,
Now sits alone in fading light.
But in that sip, a spark was sewn,
A whispered promise, energy grown,
Each bitter drop, a shield from gray,
Reviving dreams that slipped away.
With every drained and empty cup,
A lift of spirit, rising up,
I leave the grind, the day's demands,
With dreams restored, and hope in hand.
