The Art of Nodding
In the conference hall, where wisdom flows,
Nodding heads like metronomes,
But eyes glaze over, the mind's a ghost,
As dreams of mountains and oceans boast.
The speaker's words, a distant song,
While thoughts of lunch stretch far and long.
“Absolutely,” we say, though lost in thought,
As ideas flutter away, like whispers caught.
The flow of chatter, a soothing tide,
Yet in our minds, we take a ride.
To places where the heart feels light,
While nodding dutifully, out of sight.
So here we are, a silent choir,
In realms of wander, our minds conspire.
Though bodies listen, and smiles are tight,
The truth is simpler—our hearts take flight.
Silence Speaks Louder
In the hush of a crowded room,
Whispers cling like shadows to the gloom.
Words unspoken, their echoes wide,
A silent chorus where reason hides.
I nod along, though I hear them not,
Floating in thoughts, while truth’s forgot.
The beauty of nonsense drapes like a shroud,
Wrapped in the laughter of an unseen crowd.
In such stillness, a riot brews,
Drowning in silence, the chaos ensues.
For in the absence, we find our way,
To dance with reason and sway with the gray.
Echoes in the Void
In a world of buzzing screens we dwell,
Words fly like whispers, trapped in a shell.
Messages ping, but the meaning's astray,
Conversations lost in a digital haze.
Once I spoke truths, you replied with a grin,
Now, I send texts, but where do I begin?
Emoji-laden thoughts fall flat on the page,
As we laugh and we fumble, confined to the cage.
Filtering life through a pixelated glare,
Half-hearted nods in the thin, empty air.
Let’s dive into silence, where connection still stays,
And find what is missing beyond all the craze.
