Burdened by Gold
In shadows cast by dollar signs,
Where dreams of liberty entwine,
A chain of debts, a silent sigh,
As weary souls in silence cry.
Each coin a weight, each note a chain,
A restless heart, a haunting pain,
With every bill, a tale retold,
Of hopes deferred, and futures sold.
Yet still we strive, through dark and light,
To break the bonds, reclaim our plight,
For in the depths of debt's embrace,
Resilience blooms, a saving grace.
Whispers of Wealth
Beneath the glow of fragile light,
I count my dreams in paper mint,
With every bill a whispered fight,
A dance of shadows, money's tint.
The crinkle sings a tuneful score,
In pocket's fold, ambitions creep,
Each note a tale, a closed door,
A promise kept, or secrets seep.
In this dim world where fortune hides,
The night's embrace, an honest thief,
I chase the coins like fleeting tides,
Yet midst the wealth, I find my grief.
For dreams are lost in dollar signs,
As laughter fades like muted chimes.
Ephemeral Wealth
Fingers clutch at grains of gold,
Yet time transforms the bright to old.
Like sands that slip through careless hands,
Wealth's touch is faint, as fortune strands.
Each coin a moment, quick to flee,
The more we chase, the less we see.
In dreams of riches, we ensnare,
Yet wisdom whispers, 'Handle with care.'
