Sock Puppet Soirée
At petal's edge, the table's set,
With dishes fine and cloth beset.
But hushed gasps rise, a sight so grand,
The dinner guests—a puppet band!
In mismatched socks, they prance and sway,
With googly eyes, they steal the play—
A carrot stick becomes a sword,
As they duel on the drapes, both fierce and bored.
The mashed potatoes, a mountain steep,
Become their fortress—with laughter, they leap!
As forks and spoons are sworn to cheer,
These socked performers bring all good cheer.
“Who’s next up for a jig?” they ask,
With wiggling toes and flanking masks.
The punch spills forth—“A toast!” they bellow,
To socks with spirit, soft and yellow!
So if you find, on festive nights,
Sinister silken sock delights,
Join in the fun, don’t you feel shy,
For puppet shindigs surely float the sky!
Uninvited Guests
In the backyard, the grill's ablaze,
With burgers sizzling in the sun's warm rays.
Friends gather round with cheers and laughter,
But oh! Here comes a critter—what comes after?
A ladybug struts, with pomp and flair,
While ants march in like they own the air.
The flies are buzzing a raucous song,
Claiming our picnic, where they don’t belong!
A moth flits in, wide-eyed with glee,
As it dips and darts, a dance to see.
Spiders dangle from threads so thin,
While we wave them off, saying “Not again!”
With napkins in hand, we swat and shoo,
This BBQ turned bug-a-palooza for two.
Yet laughter erupts as we all take part,
In the chaos of nature, it’s a hilarious art!
Snack Circus
In the living room, a lively scene,
Visitors juggle snacks, a circus routine.
Chips fly high, like acrobats bold,
Popcorn cascades, a shower of gold.
Peanut butter balls on the tips of their toes,
A dance with the salsa, the laughter just grows.
Cookies and cupcakes, all spinning in air,
Each guest is a clown, with a juggler's flair.
Laughter erupts, as a cracker takes flight,
Bouncing off walls in the soft, fading light.
“Look at me!” shouts Sam, with a pretzel in hand,
As a wild little dog joins the snack brigade band.
With giggles and snacks swirling all 'round,
These visitors bring joy, that knows no bounds.
So come one, come all, to this topsy-turvy show,
Where juggling visitors steal the snack limelight's glow.
