Beneath the moon's soft silver light,
A possum peers with eyes so bright,
Among the branches, twisted, lean,
A shadow dances, quick and keen.
With nimble grace, she threads the night,
Her fur, a cloak of dusky light,
In a world where secrets softly hum,
She whispers tales of what’s to come.
The eucalypt sways, her secret haven,
While stars look on, their silence craven,
A fleeting glimpse, a heart in flight—
The possum plays beneath the night.
Dawn's Merry Call
Upon the crest of waking skies,
The kookaburra's laughter flies.
A chorus bright at dawn's first light,
Echoes through the morning bright.
In eucalypt where shadows play,
He heralds in the brand new day,
With cheeky glee, he calls aloud,
His joyful song, so crisp and proud.
As silver sun begins to rise,
He shares the day with joyous cries.
A playful spirit, fierce and free,
The heart of Aussie, wild and carefree.
Wombat's Embrace
Beneath the sun's warm, golden glow,
The wombat seeks a cool retreat below.
With sturdy paws, it digs and toils,
Creating homes in earthy coils.
In shadows deep, it burrows down,
A hidden life, away from town.
The whispers of the eucalypt sway,
Guide this creature to its secret play.
In tunnels winding, safe and snug,
The wombat curls, a sleepy hug.
With every scrape and gentle turn,
The wisdom of the earth it’ll learn.
