Shadows of Industry
Colors flicker, dim and pale,
Beneath the weight of smokestack's veil.
The azure skies now lost to gray,
Where golden sunlight used to play.
Factories hum a restless tune,
A dirge for flowers that once bloomed.
The vibrant hues of life decay,
In shadows cast by man's dismay.
Once brilliant greens turn sallow brown,
Nature's palette wears a frown.
And as the world begins to choke,
Dreams of clarity hang by a smoke.
Yet whispered winds still seek to part,
The veil of soot—reclaiming art.
If we can learn to mend and heal,
Perhaps a rainbow's chance we'll feel.
Whispers of the Silent Woods
In shadows deep, the greenwoods sigh,
Choked by fumes that blacken the sky.
Silent cries from branches lean,
Once vibrant life, now choked and mean.
Leaves wither 'neath a smoky veil,
Songs of nature, now a frail wail.
Roots entangled in poison’s clutch,
Once they flourished, now they touch
A sorrow profound, decay’s embrace,
The heartbeat of trees, a frantic race.
For every gasp, a memory lost,
The price of progress, the inevitable cost.
Hear them whisper through rustling chills,
The elegy born from our fleeting thrills.
Oh, let not silence drown their pleas,
For in their plight, lies hope for these.
