The Empty Vessel
A cup of dreams, forever unfilled,
Holds whispers of hopes that once were thrilled.
Each sunrise breaks, yet still it remains,
An echo of laughter, now washed with pains.
The rim worn smooth by time's gentle hand,
Craves a warm brew from an uncharted land.
Yet shadows dance where joy used to be,
In this hollow chamber, just silence for me.
I pour out my thoughts into crystal air,
Yet find only echoes of morning's despair.
An endless search for that flickering flame,
Yet all I sip is the taste of the same.
So here I linger, a vessel of night,
Hoping one day to catch shimmering light.
For dreams are the nectar, and I, just the cup,
Let life fill my heart, and overflow up.
Solitude in the Midst
In a crowded room, I stand alone,
Voices weave a tapestry, yet I'm unknown.
Faces blur like shadows, laughter rings hollow,
My heart a silent echo, as if to follow.
Around me, a dance of joy and delight,
But within, a chasm, a long, lonely night.
I reach for a smile, a glance, a hand,
Yet the warmth I'm seeking remains unplanned.
Conversations flutter, like leaves in the breeze,
While I grasp at moments that slip with ease.
Among all the souls, I float like a ghost,
A specter of longing, a yearning, a host.
But as I breathe in this muted balled air,
I cradle the stillness, the weight of my care.
For in this vast crowd, where laughter meets ache,
I find an odd solace, a presence I make.
Echoes in the Void
Footsteps echo, soft and thin,
Across a landscape bare within.
Walls of silence, shadows creep,
Into the depths where memories sleep.
Each step a whisper, lost in time,
No laughter lingers, no rhythm or rhyme.
In the hollow, a heart does roam,
Searching for solace, a place called home.
Familiar paths, now strange and stark,
Fading echoes in the dark.
With every stride, the emptiness grows,
A haunting refrain, where no one knows.
Yet still I walk, though dreams may flee,
Seeking warmth in the cold of me.
Though footsteps fade, I carry the weight,
Of echoes that speak of a love, a fate.
