Whispers in the Rain
Pitter-patter on the window, A secret song from skies above, Raindrops whisper tales of sorrow, Of buried dreams and fleeting love. Each droplet tells a story rare, Of shadows dancing in the night, Echoes of laughter filled with care, Lost in time, now taking flight. With every splash, a memory wakes, Of playgrounds where we used to play, Where joy and fear in balance stakes, Secrets masked in rain’s soft sway. Oh, listen close as thunder rolls, It carries cries of yesteryear, The rain unfurls its hidden scrolls, Bringing forth both joy and fear.
Chill of the Unknown
A chill wraps around my heart, Like shadows in my room at night. Whispers crawl from darkened walls, In corners where the nightmares bite. The moonlight casts its eerie glow, On toys lying abandoned, still. Ghosts of giggles fade away, And silence holds the world until. I count the breaths, one, two, then three, Each tap upon the floor a fright. What lurks with soft, unsteady steps? Imagined monsters come to light. Yet in this dread, a spark remains, For in the dark, the brave can see. The stories whispered in the night, Awake the dreamer deep in me.
Ticking Fears
The clock ticks too loud, it echoes my dread, In shadows it whispers, the thoughts in my head. Each second a monster, with teeth made of time, It gnaws at my courage, it steals every rhyme. A ghost in the hallway, a creak in the walls, I hear the heart beat of darkened night calls. The clock fades to silence, yet time marches on, A treasure I bury, my hope's nearly gone. But with morning's first light, the shadows take flight, The tick-tock of terror dissolves into bright. For even in darkness, I carry a spark, A flame in my heart that will chase off the dark.
