Dinner Plans Gone Awry
A spider spun a web so grand,
Inviting guests by his own hand.
He brewed a pot of flies galore,
With flies prepared to soar and score.
“Oh come and dine!” the spider said,
“Bring your friends, there's joy ahead!”
But flying high, a rogue wind blew,
And in the pot, not a fly flew!
Instead, big ants in tuxedos bold,
Strutted in, their gutts were cold.
“Is this the feast?” they questioned, spies,
“For ants like us, it’s rich in flies!”
Yet spider laughed, “What will it be?
Ants for dinner? A treat for me!”
Dinner plans, a twist, oh my!
The spider’s feast turned to a sigh!
The Spider's Morning Dance
In the morning's gentle hue,
A spider spun her web anew,
With drops of dew like diamonds bright,
She danced with joy, oh what a sight!
A fly, bemused, came buzzing near,
Entranced by threads that glimmer clear.
She winked and twirled, oh what a tease,
"Come join my dance, it's quite a breeze!"
But wise the fly, with laughs and sighs,
Said, "Dear spider, I can’t comply.
Your web’s a trap, I see your game,
No fancy dance, I'll dodge the blame!"
The spider paused, a twinkle in her eye,
"What’s life without a little try?
Come waltz a step, let’s share the fun,
Or do I need to find another one?"
So in the morn, amid the dew,
A playful chase, a dance ensued.
Though not quite friends, they shared a laugh,
The spider spun, the fly took half!
The Honey Trap
A fly with zest upon the wing,
Spied honey glistening, a golden ring.
"Oh sweet delight!" the fly did sigh,
As he landed near the webbed goodbye.
The spider grinned, all sly and spry,
"Come, my dear, don’t be shy!
Taste this nectar, rich and true,
But first, let me weave a welcome for you."
Temptation’s nectar, a sticky tease,
The fly buzzed close, heart full of ease.
But webs aren’t just for holding dreams;
They trap the foolish, how the laughter beams!
With a sudden snap, the spider lunged,
The fly, now wary, thought he’d plunged.
"Next time I’ll think!" he trembled in fright,
While the spider chuckled, "Just one more bite!"
